Problem


Verrucas are caused by a highly contagious virus. They are often mistaken for corns and can be very painful.

Identifying a verruca by appearance and symptom:


  • Surface of the skin is rough or granular and irregular in shape.
  • One or more may occur at a time, with tiny brown/black spots in them.
  • Most commonly occur on the sole of the foot, in areas of pressure and between the toes.

Cause


  • Virus enters through damaged skin.
  • Walking barefoot on damp floors is the most common method of infection.

Treatment

When verrucas are painful, use all-in-one Carnation Verruca Care to treat the verruca and pad the pain

  • Unique Salicylic Acid ointment helps resolve the verruca
  • Padding relieves the pressure that can cause pain
  • A course of treatment consists of four medicated plasters changed every two days and a final protective plaster which should be kept in place for as long as possible
  • Natural resolution of the verruca should then occur over the next couple of weeks
Note: People with severe circulatory problems and those under 6 or over 50 years should seek medical advice before use. Do not use if you suffer from diabetes.
